How did Soul Embraced come about?
WEVE BEEN AROUND SINCE '97, JUST THE LINEUP CHANGED ALOT. CHAD MOORE HAS BEEN IN S.E. SINCE '99 AND LANCE HOOKED UP WITH US IN 2000. I STARTED DOING SOUL EMBRACED WHEN I DECIDED GET OUT OF THE SATANIC BLACK/DEATH METAL BAND SHREDDED CORPSE. I WANTED TO PLAY METAL THAT MEANT SOMETHING TO ME PERSONALLY AND TO OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL..

What does the name Soul Embraced mean/come from?
A SOUL REDEEMED, WELCOMED, ACCEPTED AND LOVED.

Do you have anything in particular that you wouldd like to accomplish with the band?
WE JUST WANT TO PLAY SOME METAL AND HAVE FUN DOING IT. WHENEVER WE HOOK UP AND WRITE MUSIC OR RECORD A RECORD WE HAVE FUN DOING IT AND THATS THE GOAL.

What are your biggest musical influences and what other kinds of stuff do you like to listen to?
I'M INFLUENCED MOSTLY BY THE OLD SCHOOL STUFF LIKE METALLICA, SLAYER, PANTERA AND CANNIBAL CORPSE. I GET INTO ALOT OF CLASSICAL MUSIC AND BLUES GUYS LIKE ROBERT JOHNSON.

What do you guys do when you aren't involved with the band?
LANCE AND I DO LIVING SACRIFICE FULL TIME AND CHAD IS ON HIS WAY TO BEING OUR ROADY.

Are Scott from ZAO and Arthur from Living Sacrifice official members of Soul Embraced or were they just filling in for the show at Cornerstone?
ART IS OUR OFFICIAL LIVE BASSIST AND SCOTT WAS JUST FILLING IN.

Are there any touring plans for Soul Embraced as of yet?
NOT TOURING BUT HOPEFULLY DOING MORE SHOWS AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

Are there any bands in particular that you'd especially like to tour with?
INRAGED, CANNIBAL CORPSE, NILE, SHADOWS FALL. PRETTY MUCH ANY EXTREME METAL BANDS.

When you write music is it ever difficult to decide which band (Living Sacrifice or Soul embraced) you want to use that music for?
USUALLY IT'S PRETTY CLEAR WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH THE MUSIC BUT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I'LL OFFER UP SOMETHING TO LS THAT COULD GO EITHER WAY. "HIDDEN" FROM THE HAMMERING PROCESS IS A GOOD EXAMPLE. THAT WHOLE SONG WAS AN S.E. SONG BUT ENDED UP GETTING WORKED ON WITH LS. THE BREAKDOWN RIFF IN "HAND OF THE DEAD" WAS AN S.E. RIFF TOO. IT'S ALRIGHT THOUGH THERES ENOUGH METAL TO GO AROUND.

The song on the Solid State sampler seems a bit different from the material from the Clenched Fist release. Is the music on the newer album for Solid State going to be a lot different than "For the Incomplete"?
ON THE BRUTALITY SCALE I WOULDNT SAY IT'S ALOT DIFFERENT, IT JUST ADDS ALOT OF NEW FLAVORS. ALOT MORE MELODIES AND WAY MORE LEADS. WE WANTED TO SURPRISE PEOPLE WITH SOME STUFF TOO BUT OVER ALL I WOULD SAY ITS JUST CONTINUING FROM WHERE FOR THE INCOMPLETE LEFT OFF.

I would imagine being in just one band would be extremely time consuming. How have you been able to find time to put out an album last year with Living Sacrifice, tour, and put out two albums this year with Soul Embraced?
WELL, FOR THE INCOMPLETE HAS BEEN DONE FOR A YEAR WE JUST NEEDED TO HAVE SOMEONE PUT IT OUT FOR US. THIS IS MY BLOOD WAS WRITTEN ON THE P.O.D., PROJECT 86 AND LS TOUR AND RECORDED IT WHILE WE WERE HOME FOR A FEW WEEKS. IM READY TO WRITE ANOTHER RECORD RIGHT NOW ACTUALLY.

Is there anything else you'd like to say?
