Love Lost But Not Forgotten on 07-11-200 by Ariel Mitchell

First off, state your name, and you do in the band.

I am chris. I play the bass guitar.
-----

So how did you get involved in LLBNF? A little history on the band, if you will?

We formed about 4 years ago. Matt , Jason and myself were in a band called End over End before that and basically after that broke up jason and matt continued writing material and I went and tried some other bands. Then they asked me to play bass, so we starting playing together and decided to get another guitar player, so we picked up our friend scott and he totally was on the level with us musically. After that we asked our friend mike to sing and we started writing a ton of songs and started playing shows and we recorded a 4 song demo which 2 of the songs ended up being on the 7" split with Joshua Fit For Battle. We continued to play a shitload of shows and then nathan (matts brother) asked if he could try out too. So we tried him out and thats when we started the two singer line-up, recorded the cd that we have out on HCNL, and did numerous tours, and wrote most of the songs that will be on the upcoming cd. So anyways after we did a summer tour with PG99, we got home and mike decided to leave the band, so we started doing the solo singer act with just nathan, and went on the tour last summer with Code Seven and Poison The Well. Came home recorded the new record and our currently out with hopesfall and codeseven.

How has LLBNF's involvement with Happy Couples Never Last been? Any thoughts on a new label so far?

It has been ok with hcnl. we are very thankful that clark has dealt with us and put out some records for us...as far as a new label who knows what the future might bring. Cant really specify anything yet.
-----

So you guys are currently on tour with Codeseven and Hopesfall right now. This is your second time on the road with Codeseven. Has touring with them again been helpful in anyways?

Totally helpful. Codeseven is an amazing group of guys and probably one of the best bands out right now. They help us a lot by drawing a lot of different kids than we would usually play too and they are a breath of fresh air on this tour because it seems that we play with the same genre of bands everynight and to have a band like codeseven playing really changes it up a lot. They rule.
-----

Have any drunken brawls broken out on tour yet?

Not yet...hehe. There is too much positivity on this tour to really have any problems with people. This has been and amazing and fun tour.
-----

Now, cough cough, you guys have recently played a show with none other than Static-X. How did that go, and did you get into a drunken brawl with Wayne Static?

Actually, we never played that show due to the ball being dropped getting a van, so yeah we miss out on that. But I would have totally brawled.
-----

After the Codeseven/Hopesfall tour, do you guys have any other tour plans laid out?

yeah we are going to be going southeast in late august/september, we arent sure who we are going with yet. But we are so excited to hit florida again. such a good place. After that we are going to try and do the band fulltime and tour a lot more often. So keep your eyes open for fliers and tourdates on our webpage.

So, you guys have just released your second album entitled "Upon The Right, I Saw A New Misery", and so far it has climbed the charts and done very well. Were you expecting this level of hype that the new record has been getting?

I dont think we expected it, but we sure as hell did hope for it. We are all so happy that is doing so well and kids are enjoying what we are doing. We have gotten a lot of help from various resources and that has definately helped teh record do well.. so we do owe a lot of thanks to everyone who bought it and helped us promote it.
-----

Were you, personally, satisfied with the album when it was finished?

Yeah, I mean...it's hard to ask someone that because after is all done you always think " well i could have done that part a lot better, etc". So yes i am satisfied but there are things i'd do to change parts.
-----

Now the new record does have its differences from the S/T album, did different band members have different inputs on these, or was it the band's idea as a whole?

well the thing a lot of people dont know is that the self titled cd was recorded about a year and a half before it was ever released. And since that was done so long ago we have progressed as a band and basically learned from the mistakes we made on the first album. We wanted something a little more structred and still offtime and chaotic, so collectively we were all on the same page when we were writing the new stuff.
-----

Are there any recording plans for the near future as of right now?

Well when we get home we plan on working on some new stuff to record later in the year.. but for now we are just going to tour on the new album.
-----

What do you want on your tombstone?

uh....what kind of question is that
-----

What tunes have you guys been jamming on tour? nelly failure Johnny Cash denali

basically anything non-hardcore.
-----

If you could fight any celebrity, past or present, who would it be?

Stephen Hawkings..he is too fucking smart
-----

Do you have any last thoughts/comments? You can also take this time for some shameless promo.

Um...I guess thank to everyone who has attend the shows on tour so far ...we really appreciate it. Make sure to pick up codeseven's new album "the rescue" and make sure to pick up hopesfalls new album this fall.

oh yeah if your bored pick up the new llbnf cd or check out our webpage at www.llbnf.com
